We’ve listened to your feedback and overhauled how messaging works between job posters and subcontractors on Workyard to make communication even easier and more timely.
For construction companies, our goal is to make it a seamless experience to post jobs on Workyard and quickly find the right sub for your project. For subcontractors, it’s to enable you to efficiently communicate so you can get the info you need about a job and organize site visits and quotes. With that in mind, here are the key improvements we have made to messaging.
Direct Email: Communicate within your email app
Now, when a subcontractor sends a message to a job poster, a direct email thread is started between both parties. After the email thread is created, you can communicate without leaving your email app – making it easier to follow up and get work done.
We’ve also made it easier to exchange important files such as plans and quotes. You can attach these documents to Workyard email messages, and they will be shared with the other party, just like in a regular email message.
SMS Notifications: Stay on top of your jobs and messages
For those who don’t have our our mobile app, or prefer to limit the push notifications you receive, we’ve added support for SMS notifications. Whenever you have Workyard messages that you have not seen, we will periodically send you texts to let you know that people are trying to get in touch with you. Each text message includes a link that allows you to quickly respond to unread messages.
Workyard: A resource for the construction industry
We hope you find these messaging updates helpful. We built Workyard to be a resource for the construction industry and we’re constantly pushing to make our platform more useful to our users — whether you are a general contractor/builder, project manager, subcontractor or skilled worker.
