To use Workyard effectively, certain permissions are needed on employees devices. These permissions are needed to track and record your team. These permissions vary depending on the devices operating system (iOS or Android), but generally include: access to the device's GPS, background location access to track your team even when the app isn't open, Wi-Fi and network information to improve tracking, and location services.

Does Workyard track drive time and mileage between job sites?

Yes. Workyard automatically detects when an employee begins driving and logs mileage and travel time. This helps with reimbursements, route planning, and understanding job cost drivers.

Can I disable GPS tracking for certain employees or roles?

Yes. GPS tracking can be customized by role or individual employee, giving you flexibility to manage different types of workers, subcontractors, or office staff.

Does the GPS work when there is no cell phone coverage?

Workers are able to clock in and out even when their phone is offline. The GPS tracking relies on satellite signal, so it will continue to work even without an internet connection.
