What Real People Say About Workyard
Workyard users say the app has helped them manage projects and teams more efficiently, but cited occasional app issues.
iOS user William appreciates how Workyard simplified clocking in and out for employees:
How great Workyard mobile app is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
More convenient sufficient, and less time consuming. This new technology helps workers sign in and sign out in a more sufficient way as far as having to go to a machine Wait in line and then signing her up and with so much new technology at hand, the Workyard app is just brilliant.
Android user Casey Reeves wished the filter function would be improved:
⭐⭐
The filter option resets regularly requiring a repeat of the process. Lately the filter does not update the list of workers requiring scrolling through hundreds of employees to approve only a few timecards. If my company did not mandate it, I would not use this app.
Workyard user Jessica S. rated the app as the best in the field, but wished for more customization:
Best tracking app out there – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall: Overall, the cons definitely are minimal. I have been exceptionally thrilled with the service we’ve had. Most of our work areas are way out of cell service, and the app has worked better than expected.
Pros: I love the ease of use and the support. Somebody walked me through it and didn’t just slough me off to a video I could watch having somebody be able to show me how to make this work for my business was awesome.
Cons: I would like to be able to make some of the features more customizable like instead of changing from projects, I wish we could change some of those standardized features.

What Real People Say About ClickUp
ClickUp users say the web platform is fast and comes with a lot of basic features. However, ClickUp’s mobile apps need to be redesigned for users’ sake.
iOS user LorenzoWoodMusic wishes the app was easier to navigate and more customizable:
I’ve developed temper issues because of clickup – One of the worst designed apps I’ve ever used ⭐
This app is really terrible. It looks nice at at its core interacting with it is fine. But the way it’s laid out is so utterly confusing and inefficient it makes everything so much more complicated than it should. I often end up on wild goose chases just trying to do the simplest things. Pretty much anything that should be an easy thing to do instead takes many times the amount of effort to do. It feels like no time or effort was put into UX / UI and they just put all the buttons in random places and called it a day.
It also offers zero flexibility/customization which is tough since that’s the main thing that makes clickup good. This is an app I really hope will get redesigned FROM THE GROUND UP. I rarely wish this upon any software.
Bonus: the Siri integration is actually really well done and it feels incredible to use (basically interacting with clickup through an Apple-designed system)
Android user Victoria Chen says the app comes with a lot of useful, basic features. However, the mobile version needs to be more robust:
⭐⭐⭐
In my experience, the app is speedy and has many of the basic features sorted out. The document editing experience is rather buggy, but I’m getting the notifications I should, and I can create tasks and see tasks, upload attachments etc. It feels more like a desktop companion app, as many desktop features are not available on mobile. One crucial thing for me to have is to be able to see my Lineup on mobile. Not having that really limits the usability of the app for me.
ClickUp user Andrew R. says he appreciates the flexible pricing scheme, but customer support needs to be better:
Less than Average product, customer support is poor ⭐⭐
Overall: Poor customer support, polite but useless.Pros: It allows you to change seats as your team scales up and down.
Cons: It is complicated to use, the customer support is not 24 hour as we raised tickets and they would not respond to them until the next working day. This is one of those company’s that make it difficult to cancel, you can not do this by simply clicking on a button you have to log a support request and then they come back to you and try and convince you to stay. When you get over this they will only let the owner cancel. They allow Admin to change billing details and upgrade the account but make it so difficult for you to cancel. They want people to stay not because of the product but because they can not leave easily

What Real People Say About Leap
Leap users say the app has good basic features, especially for smaller companies, but platform bugs affect their productivity.
iOS user Pawbrew says Leap has a great concept, but is bugged by a lot of issues:
Great in Theory but a lot of issues ⭐
Job Progress/Leap has a really nice system for smaller companies but there are always issues. System texting is a nice feature to text customers woth out giving your cell number but has been down for 2 months. Always have to redownload the app to fix bug issues. Some options disappear from drop down menu from day to day. App options are different from desktop options. This company was purchased by leap, our monthly rate went up with zero notifications only to have a worse less functional program. We are searching for newer crm options as this place has a lot of work to do and needs to really work on back end problems faster.
Leap user alison C. says the app is expensive and only delivers basic functionality:
Capterra reviewer alison C. says:
Not as promised ⭐⭐
Overall: I am unhappy with LEAP – it is far too expensive for the rather BASIC functionality.Pros: the timesheet/timekeeping …………………..
Cons: Lack of customization options for invoices with direct payment Awful app – very few mobile options Forms are not easily customizable and are literally just copy/pasted from court website…. except the court websites are easier to use Difficulty with applying payments, etc.

Reviews
Procore users found the software useful for managing projects, but hinted at high costs.
iOS user PunchLordito says Procore has a great concept, but several platform issues affect his workflow:
Great concept, Little annoying issues throughout – ⭐⭐⭐
I use mostly for punch list creation, tracking, and resolution. I have found a need for a longer queue in “recent punch items” in order to keep moving through rooms productively. The current update has made things slower because reusing a recent item loads it into the queue twice, etc. Removing other punch items that then have to be recreated. The older version handled this better.
The comment and response section when communicating on a specific punch item makes it difficult to have clear communication back and forth using the app tool.
Items have been failing to load for me when created and will just stay in the top of the queue unless resolved and reopened in the instance that is possible. When resolve and reopen is not an option there is really nothing much that can be done other than delete in the browser version and recreate.
When linking items to a drawing it can begin to glitch and have had the app crash on me without saving atleast 20 previous items that were not loaded yet.
A lot of unnecessary steps that may be useful in some scenarios but honestly could be much more productive not having to modify edits or individually add certain unavailable editable features to hundreds of items.
The concept and goal of the app is untouchable and can revolutionize job management and communication throughout multiple industries it just needs some updates to the mobile system to help productivity and communication.
Android user Wanda Young says constant updates keep her from maximizing the app’s capabilities:
⭐
Like right now I’m trying to describe my problem with this app and it won’t even take it. My problem is every time I get used to finally using it again there’s another update and everything goes all to heck and you have to learn it over again and again and there’s another update and there again I keep getting warning signs saying that there was a problem uploading when they get done with procore and get another app
Procore user Marylet M. says the app is useful for managing construction projects, but at a high cost:
Capterra Review:
Own opinion – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros: Offers real-time collaboration, document management, and scheduling capabilities; excellent for managing construction projects.Cons: Compared to more straightforward project management solutions, it may have a steeper learning curve and be more expensive for smaller projects.

What Real People Say About ProjectManager
iOS user Schdnsbsidns says the app helps him focus on what’s important:
Good Program, Weak App ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Online version is good, app is uselessThe app is awful. We started testing out the desktop web version and thought we finally found a program that would work for us. Unfortunately, you can’t view the calendar or any scheduling, dashboards, etc on the app. It’s very limited and not useful in the field.
Project Manager user Ronald O. says the app is good for a lot of project tasks:
Multi-Project Cloud Management ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall: Enhancement of real-time multiple projects and tasks monitoring, team intranet portal and agile reliable cloud project budgeting.Pros: Seamless digital tasks updating, scheduling, rescheduling and editing. Monitoring progress of several projects and tasks. Advanced tools. Online mobile marketing and internal departmental group messaging.
Cons: I personally don’t think of any drawback to mention.

Wrike integrates with third-party apps and systems like QuickBooks, OneDrive, MailChimp, Bill.com, and more.
What Real People Say About Wrike
Wrike users say they are impressed with its range of features, but the app needs to iron out several issues, including its mobile experience.
iOS user Simpliciteeeee says the app couldn’t keep up with the latest iOS updates:
iOS user Simpliciteeeee says:
Stopped loading after updating to iOS 17 ⭐⭐
Since updating my iPhone 15 and iPad Pro to iOS 17, the Wrike app has completely stopping functioning and will not load at all. I get an error message on the loading screen that says it’s “taking longer than usual to load,” with a contact button for submitting a bug report—except I get another error message when trying to do that. Tried deleting and reinstalling, still doesn’t work.
Wrike is a great project management platform on desktop (although I primarily use the web app instead of the Mac desktop app), but the mobile app isn’t great.
Android user Nic Roberts says the app was okay, but struggles with integration:
⭐⭐⭐
It’s ok, it has a fairly user friendly interface (as far as timeline/project management software goes) but it’s not yet very feature-rich, several of the views are buggy, and the integration with other tools (especially Microsoft products) leaves a lot to be desired.
Wrike user Jean P. says Wrike offers a sophisticated set of features, but it’s not easy to use either for management or field workers:
Little love from the team – Poor customer service ⭐⭐⭐
Overall: I politely asked for a refund for the annual plan I was not using. Nobody cares to reply to me. There seems to be a lot of turnaround time in this company.Pros: The set of features is very sophisticated.
Cons: It’s a very dry and dated user interface. There is no easy entry point. I got a lot of push back from the team. It was difficult to scale up, features that worked for one person could not be easily deployed at the team level. Forcing us to sign an annual plan is not good either. I wasted a year of subscription which is infuriating.

What Real People Say About Trimble ProjectSight
iOS user Radio1937 acknowledges the app has potential, but judged it as non-intuitive to use:
Potential ⭐⭐⭐
Potential to be great but isn’t intuitive, crashes all the time, sync issues, and constantly needs updating to no prevail. There support team is the only reason why they get an extra 2 stars because they resolve issues almost instantly. Please contact them so these bugs are worked out.
ProjectSight user Ben J. was initially excited with the app, until he encountered multiple issues and problems:
Good for project engineers, not for field crews yet ⭐⭐⭐
Overall: Overall for us: We switched from Procore, and are considering switching back. My attempt to sum up why: it feels like PS was designed by software engineers who only tested it one way. That way was using a desktop computer. The most important thing for us is how well it works in the field. There, PS suffers.Pros: ProjectSight is a welcome up-and-coming competitor to Procore. …Features I like: we use Vista accounting, so we can tick the box in Vista and it automatically sets up the PS project using same name, job number, etc.
Cons: It has been a difficult transition from Procore for several reasons:
- Procore worked faster. I continually heard from the field that they were waiting for PS. This has improved lately but still is noticeably slower than Procore.
- The drawings tool in the app is frustrating for the crews…
- Uploading drawings works well enough, except for one thing: you can only assign one Discipline to an upload. So you have to break a large drawing set file up into several pdf files (one for each discipline).
- Project photos – …NEED DEDICATED CAMERA BUTTON IN APP!
- Address isn’t available in the app, so it is useless to navigate to a new project.

Fieldwire integrates with document and project data management systems like Google Drive, Sharepoint, and Dropbox, to name a few.
Reviews
Fieldwire users say the platform works well for planning and task management, but costs add up when teams start to grow.
Apple user Bshanabe said the app is helpful, but needs a little more functionality to provide real value for the price:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We are using Fieldwire for Plan and Task management. That’s its strengths.Tasks are threaded like texts so it’s easy to pickup. Can attach links, photos, files, markups, etc. Everything to get a task done is there to move it along, stay organized and provide great record keeping.
Overall the learning curve is tiny – anyone can master Fieldwire over a work week of use. The mobile app is actually easier to use than the desktop version. The Task and Plan management are terrific and improve QC and efficiency.
The major drawback is it needs more functionality. The higher level includes forms. That’s ok, but Fieldwire needs to work towards being a full-fledged ERP-style solution similar to Procore. For subcontractors, I think it’s better than Procore. But not for GCs.
The second drawback is the pricing model. Per user pricing is not bad, but everyone (including outside guests – like subs) have to be paid for like any other user. That eliminates plan sharing and collaboration.
If you are a sub or need focused plan and task management, Fieldwire is very good.
Android user M T had one complaint:
⭐⭐
Could be much easier to use
Capterra reviewer Jonathan M. appreciated the app’s document management capabilities, but hinted at growing costs once teams start to grow:
Excellent Software ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall: Excellent source for drawing, and submittal control.Pros: Integration very easy. Very userfriendly. It helped out in the field for drawings document control and submittals.
Cons: No good for bids or estimating. Software is very expensive when you have more than 5 users. RFIs cannot be created through the software.

Our Scoring System Explained
Our 8-part scoring system was created to help you understand the potential value of any software we review simply and fairly.
We created it after reviewing dozens of software products, which we covered in depth, but without providing a direct and simple way for readers to compare products on their merits – without spending a lot of time looking through our articles for the information they needed to make an informed decision.
Every app we review will include Customer Support and Company scores, which we’ll explain in more detail below. Many of the factors reviewed in this article will also be consistent across most (or all) of our software reviews, with some differences:
The 8 factors assessed and their contribution to a product’s overall score may differ slightly from product to product based on various factors, such as the use case we’re reviewing for, the type of business these products are tailored to, and other considerations. However, all reviews will feature an 8-part score, weighted and combined to calculate each product’s overall score.
How We Score Software
All factors in our reviews are scored on a 10-point scale – technically 11 points – from 0-10. However, we only give products a score of 0 if it does not include an essential feature at all, and we try to avoid giving out 0 scores if a product can demonstrate any functionality in line with the specific factor being reviewed.
In general, the 0-10 range translates as:
- 9.0 – 10 – One of the absolute best in its category (amazing).
- 7.5 – 8.9 – Very good, but with some minor issues (very good).
- 6.0 – 7.4 – Mediocre performance with notable shortcomings (average).
- 3.0 – 5.9 – This feature is not ready for prime time (borderline).
- 1.0 – 2.9 – This feature actually makes its product worse (unacceptable).
- 0 – The product doesn’t include this important feature at all.
How We Calculate Overall Scores
The 8 factors reviewed are weighted based on an overall total of 100%:
- Ease of Use: 20%
- Time Tracking Accuracy: 20%
- Scheduling Features: 15%
- Job Tracking: 15%
- Integrations: 10%
- Customer Support: 15%
- Company: 5%
Methodology for Each Factor
Ease of Use
We evaluate a product’s ease of use based on three main considerations:
- How easy is it to set up this app?
- How easy is it for managers to use the backend dashboard?
- How easy is it for frontline workers to use the (mobile) app?
These three considerations cover the main ways you and your team would use the software being reviewed – when you first obtain it, when someone (a manager, executive, team leader, or similar role) needs to use it to manage people, money, data, and other things, and when workers you’re tracking use the app (usually a mobile version of the software designed for frontline and/or field team members) to clock in, clock out, record time worked, or address other day-to-day needs.
Time Tracking Accuracy
Every minute matters when you’re trying to control payroll costs. This factor accounts for various features and common needs in time-tracking apps, such as…
- How accurate or precise is its GPS tracking capability?
- How accurate – and how customizable – is its geofencing feature?
- How accurate is its travel and mileage tracking (if available)?
- Can it automatically clock workers in and out based on the above?
- Can you set and/or restrict rules for clocking in and out?
- Can the app continue tracking workers while offline?
- How easy is its mobile app and/or kiosk for frontline workers?
Scheduling Features
Many construction businesses prefer to manage as many aspects of employee labor activity as possible in a single app, which is why many time-tracking apps also include worker scheduling as a core feature.
When we consider a product’s scheduling features, we look at:
- Its dashboard customizability (daily, weekly, or monthly views).
- Its project-based scheduling and visibility.
- Its real-time updates and notifications for workers.
- Its real-time map views of worker locations for best-fit scheduling.
- Its recurring schedule (copies to subsequent weeks, etc.) functionality.
Job Tracking
This factor helps you understand if the software can also provide insight into specific projects, which is particularly handy when your business deals with many customers or clients who generally need shorter-term work. Effective job tracking typically also includes accurate job costing functionality for construction companies.
We assess several things when calculating a product’s job tracking score:
- Its project-based tracking for multiple projects per day/week/etc.
- Its ability to track multiple / many projects simultaneously.
- Its use of (and your ability to customize) construction cost codes.
- Any built-in job costing views.
- Any integrations for cost coding (QuickBooks etc.)
Integrations
No business can operate on a single app, which is why integrations with other apps and tools are such important aspects of modern business software.
To calculate a product’s integration score, we’ll examine:
- How many native integrations (the simplest connection) does it offer?
- How effective and easy-to-use are its integrations with payroll software?
- Does it have robust data import and export features?
Customer Support
Learning how to use a new app can be frustrating, even if it’s meant to be the most user-friendly app around. That’s why great customer support is so essential when considering which time-tracking app to use.
Customer support scores are calculated based on:
- Live support channels available (phone, email, chat, etc.).
- Live support hours (business hours only, 24/7, etc.).
- The strength of the product’s online help center and/or FAQs.
- What other users say about support in online reviews.
Company
A great company with a highly customer-friendly approach can often make up for shortcomings in their software products – at least up to a point.
When assessing this score, we’ll examine:
- Transparency (easy-to-find pricing, etc.)
- Trial period (duration, feature availability, credit card requirements, etc.).
- Subscription flexibility (contracts, required durations, etc.).
- Ease of cancellation or pausing subscriptions.
- Customer perceptions (online product reviews).
- Website (a minor consideration, but great companies tend to have great websites).
