What Is Jibble?
Jibble is a cloud-based time tracking and attendance management solution for companies and organizations of any size. It allows employees to easily log their billable hours, ensuring employers accurately disburse paychecks based only on the hours their workers worked.
It uses advanced tech, such as geolocation and facial recognition, to help companies better track worker activities. Jibble also offers a free version with the essentials and upgraded packages with advanced and customizable features.
Jibble Overview
In most Jibble reviews (including this one), the following features always stand out:
- Facial recognition to accurately track employee work hours
- Geolocation tracking to manage a remote workforce
- Streamlined payroll processes with automated timesheet generation
Sign-Up and Onboarding
You can create a free Jibble account by connecting to your Google, Facebook, Apple, Xero, or Intuit account or by entering your name, email, and password.
After signing up, you’ll see a short form asking about your business and how many people will be using Jibble. You must also specify which areas you want Jibble to help you with: monitoring time and attendance, reviewing hours for payroll, or tracking time on projects. Choose one or all, or a handful.
Next, select the devices your team will use to log in or out. There are quite a few options: mobile app, shared kiosk, web browser, and desktop app. If you want to make changes to your device selection later, you can easily edit this information in the settings.
You’re then prompted to complete a customized onboarding checklist to navigate Jibble more easily. The checklist will guide you through completing your organization profile, setting rules for time tracking, creating work schedules, listing work locations, setting up activities, and adding team members.
You can also book a demo with a Jibble expert if you need one.
Adding Team Members
Invite your team members to set up and log in to their Jibble account by ticking the box for email or SMS invites. Then, enter their names, email addresses, and mobile numbers. Alternatively, you can generate an invitation link and share it with your team members through any channel you can paste a link into.
Selecting Time Tracking Policies
Before you can do any time tracking and logging, you need to set up your time clock restrictions. This is a pretty straightforward step with several presets to choose from:
- Flexible – Ideal for teams with higher onsite autonomy; face recognition disabled, GPS location not required, editable time entries
- Moderate – Ideal for teams with fixed hours and locations; with enabled face recognition, editable time entries, and disabled geofences
- Strict – Ideal for teams with offsite members; enforced face recognition for blocking time entries from unrecognized entries, enabled GPS location, and disabled location editing in time entries
Setting Up Work Schedules
Creating fixed, flexible, or weekly work arrangements and picking the days of the week and the payroll hours is also not that complicated.
Simply click Work Schedules on the left panel, enter the work schedule, and copy to all to populate the fields for the entire week.
On upgraded premium plans, you can schedule paid and unpaid breaks and set up advanced schedules with custom breaks, auto deductions, and overtime.
If you have team members from different parts of the world, you can set up country-specific public holiday calendars and assign them to your team members. You can also add custom holidays for your organization, if you have any.
Adding Work Locations
List all work locations, which can include anywhere your team members will log in and out. Free plan users can only add two locations.
If you can’t find the address in the search bar, you can manually add the location’s coordinates by positioning the pin on the map. Just click Done when you’re happy with the location, and you can always adjust the coordinates later as needed.
Ultimate plan subscribers are recommended to set the radius to 300 meters to enable geofence reminders and push notifications. But you can always set it to your preferred radius settings by selecting Custom Radius when adding a new location.
Adding Activities
Adding activities – from which you can generate work productivity, payroll, and job costing reports – is also not difficult. Assign the activity and code, then add a short description and color label for easy tracking.
The onboarding checklist helps ensure you complete all crucial steps.
Once you’re done with the onboarding steps, you’re good to go. Overall, account registration with Jibble simply flows. It’s quick and easy, with intuitive (but unobtrusive) onboarding prompts.

Find Out MoreThe Web App Experience – Uncluttered and Painless
When you log in to your Jibble account, you’ll see a clean and minimalist dashboard displaying tracked hours, team members, activities, and locations. All the functions you’ll need are on the left, right, top, or bottom of the page.
We like how you can view everything by category: location, group, schedule, day, week, or month. You can also see who’s working or not by organization, manager, and personal clock-ins and clock-outs.
Even if it’s your first time logging in, you can easily find the tab or menu you need.
The Mobile App Experience – Responsive and Straightforward
The Jibble mobile app also has an onboarding checklist to help you get things rolling. You can select settings, activities, schedules, and restrictions like you can in the web app. However, we recommend finalizing this information before sending out any team email and SMS invites to avoid confusion.
Viewing daily and monthly timesheets or managing and assigning team members to tasks and locations are also straightforward on phones. You can also manage time clock restrictions and device locks on your mobile device.
If you prefer a clutter-free dashboard, you can hide Jibble’s widgets in just a few taps.
Jibble Key Features
Facial Recognition
A standout feature of Jibble is its facial recognition technology. When employees clock in, clock out, take a break, or switch to a new task, they’ll be prompted to scan their faces on the app.
When facial recognition is enabled in Jibble’s settings, your employees must take selfies on their mobile devices. It only takes a few seconds and includes prompts to look up, down, left, and right. Once a usable selfie is captured, the app will use it to authenticate time clock activities.
Time Clock
Jibble’s time clock provides a detailed record of your employees’ hours, activities, and locations.
The interface allows them to easily log the time they spend on a particular task or project. All activities on the mobile app are synced with the web app so you can monitor them effortlessly.
Taking selfies to clock in, start a break, switch activities, and clock out is super fast. The app automatically captures and recognizes team members’ faces and notifies you if face data isn’t recognized.
On the Premium plan, you can enable screenshot capturing when employees log in via the desktop app to prevent them from logging in from a different device.
Jibble also lets you set up kiosk mode on mobile devices, which are typically tablets for this purpose. Add the employees’ names, name the kiosk, and set a pin (for admins and managers to override clock-ins and clock-outs and access settings when necessary). Once configured to your desired kiosk settings, your employees can start logging in and out via facial recognition, a selfie, or PIN verification.
Timesheets
This is where you’ll find your team members’ recorded time entries.
You can view the data by daily, weekly, and monthly timesheets or filter entries by payroll hours, groups, members, schedules, tracked hours, and member codes.
Click on a time entry for a more detailed view of the recorded hours, including projects worked on and the time spent on each project. This section also lets you make changes if needed. There’s also an option to add time or hour entries manually. Once that’s sorted out, you can go to the Approvals tab to approve timesheets for payroll.
If live tracking is included in your subscription plan, you can view the routes traveled while your team members are on the clock.
Exporting daily timesheet data is a Premium feature, so you’ll have to upgrade to the Premium plan to export timesheets or time entry lists in XLS or CSV.
Attendance Tracker
Leave management is also easy with Jibble’s time off policies. You can just choose the start and end dates or times for the requested time off.
Conflicts in schedules are also avoided since you can monitor when team members are supposed to be at work, on rest day, or on leave. If you’ve set up your holiday calendar, you can manage schedules and activities around public holidays for team members based overseas.

Jibble Reviews
Reviews of Jibble are worth checking out, as they can help you get a better idea of whether it’s the right time tracking software for your business.
One user on the App Store shares how their large nonprofit organization of mentors, coaches, and students enjoys Jibble’s flexibility, especially when at offsite events.
Eclipse@19’s App Store review says:
Finally! A way to track our volunteer hours! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We’re a small non-profit with coaches, mentors, and 150+ students. We’re on a tight budget but still have the same time tracking requirements faced by big organizations. Jibble allows us to segment users and activities. We can track and report on attendance and volunteer hours. The flexibility to use the app on personal smartphones to check in and out is very helpful as we often work offsite events. And we leverage and love the option of running Jibble on a tablet at our front door. The facial recognition option is very convenient. I highly recommend.
One Android user finds Jibblegood for tracking his hours. But when he forgets to sign out, editing is complicated.
Deniel d’Entremont has this to say about Jibble:
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love this app. I use it to track my own hours, so I’m not using it to its full ability. But it is great for what I need. The only problem I have is when I forget to sign out, and the hours roll into the next day; editing is complicated, and I wish that was easier.”
It does its job as a time clock and attendance tracker, but users still encounter some issues.
Jonatan V. left this review on Capterra:
The ultimate time and attendance app ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very good to excellent, I would say, as far as time and attendance app for members to clock in and out. It doesn’t allow us to play with the work week in order to change the days, to start the week and when to finish it. It’s fixed the way the workweek is presented.
