What Is JobNimbus?
Though it positions itself as a CRM for contractors, JobNimbus is upfront about its true purpose: to be an all-in-one app for roofing professionals.
It primarily serves roofing, gutter, and siding contractors with solutions for marketing, sales, production, billing, and communication. JobNimbus wants you to be a roofing business hero with the help of its software solutions.
JobNimbus Overview
JobNimbus seems to be doing all it can to become the all-in-one app for roofing contractors it promises itself to be.
The company has been on an acquisition spree in the last 15 months or so. In April 2023, it acquired Roofer Marketers, a PPC advertising and digital marketing agency. More recently, JobNimbus acquired SumoQuote, a sales software for contractors, in 2024.
These strategic acquisitions have enabled JobNimbus to expand its offerings into marketing and sales solutions, as well as the billing and cash flow tools it’s historically provided. A recent press release announced the launch of a next-day funding feature to help roofing contractors secure more business while ensuring timely payments.
JobNimbus also offers production software to help contractors procure materials and plan projects better. Its platform also comes with communication channels, namely integrated text, email, and caller ID.
Sign-Up and Onboarding
JobNimbus offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The signup page includes an early reminder about how the software can help you nail big jobs, just like Guillermo (a JobNimbus featured client).
Guillermo accompanies you throughout the signup process, up to the point where you’re asked to provide your work and business details.
After completing the signup process, we were surprised to be greeted by Homer Simpson.
The app immediately offers marketing services, but with a caveat: you need to get on the waiting list. We found this a bit odd since a roofing professional signing up for contractor software normally expects tools for scheduling, job assignments, and similar on-the-job tools. But JobNimbus just doesn’t want you to miss their marketing toolset – even if you don’t have a need for it at the moment.
The Web App Experience
The web presents a Trello-like dashboard with cards for leads, appointment schedules, estimates, jobs with pending customer signatures, and signed contracts.
Further left, the dashboard extends to job prep, jobs in progress, final walkthrough, pending payments, paid and closed jobs, and jobs lost.
The top bar includes the home button, shortcuts to jobs, calendar, insights, and communications (engage). The platform gives you the option to enable the job sidebar (a premium feature), create jobs, search for jobs, and view notifications.
The menu bar underneath the top bar consists of the Retail button, which pops out dedicated boards for retail roofing jobs, insurance, and work orders.
Next to the retail button sits similar drop-down menus for job types, sales reps, assignees, and subcontractors.
Notably, JobNimbus doesn’t offer a step-by-step guide or dashboard walkthrough. Instead, it invites you to explore its resource center via the lightbulb icon at the bottom left of the screen.
The Mobile Experience
The JobNimbus mobile app allows you to manage jobs and schedules, as well as communicate with clients on the go. You can choose which app sections will show on your home screen.
It allows you to view insurance, retail, and work order boards. It does a good job of replicating the Trello-like environment of the web app, which is a definite advantage to visual users and team admins.
As with the web app, the Engage section is off-limits until you pay for access.
The mobile calendar shows monthly, weekly, and daily views of schedules, as well as by agenda.
Lastly, the notifications tab updates you with the latest job and client alerts. You can filter these by mentions, emails, jobs, contacts, tasks, and work orders.
For field workers, the mobile app also comes with an eye-friendly dark mode.

In this section, we’ll look at JobNimbus’ key platform features, including:
- Dashboard
- Jobs
- Calendar
- Insights
- Engage (Communication Tools)
What’s in JobNimbus’ Home Dashboard?
The Home dashboard shows a table view of your current tasks, jobs, and contacts. You may customize the dashboard to show the reports relevant to you, such as commissions, user activity, jobs lost, outstanding invoices, and others.
The dashboard alerts you to high-priority tasks as well as those needing follow-up or scheduling.
You can create a task by clicking the ‘Add Task’ button on the right side of the screen.
The task pop-up asks you for task details, including the due date, assignee, and subcontractor. You may also include additional details such as priority, related jobs, description, tags, and related contacts.
In the same way, you may create jobs using the ‘Add Job’ button in the ‘Jobs’ section. You will also be asked for job details, including material type and color. Details for job loss are also requested, including claim and policy number.
You may add or import contacts using the relevant buttons found in the ‘Contacts’ section.
What’s Included in JobNimbus’ Jobs?
Going over to the ‘Jobs’ section brings you to the same card-based workspace that first greets users after signup. Clicking the ‘Add Job’ button brings up a pop-up asking for the job contact. You can search for an existing contact or create a new one based on the job you’re creating.
Clicking an existing job brings you to another page containing the client’s contact details, including workflow, related contracts, activities, job tasks, and other related documents. These include photos, financials, work orders, and forms.
JobNimbus allows you to create your own board for the Jobs section, with options for color, availability/visibility, and customization fields. The dashboard displays this alongside existing boards, which you can also view as a list.
You can edit and delete boards. The menu bar above the boards allows you to filter them by type (insurance, retail, etc.), sales representative, or assignee.
You may also search your database of contractors for jobs.
The dashboard includes a dedicated refresh button to help synchronize cards and entries with its mobile apps.
What’s in JobNimbus’ Calendar?
The calendar features a monthly view of your jobs and tasks, which you can customize to a daily, weekly, or agenda overview.
You can add tasks in the calendar, save jobs as files, or display job location details using the respective icons below the ‘Add Task’ button on the left side of the calendar. Clicking on a date opens a pop-up for creating a new task.
The calendar allows you to search team members and contractors. You can also filter calendar entries by tasks, jobs, work orders, and material orders. There are further drill-down filters as well, including lead follow-up and work order type (i.e. roofing/siding/gutters/painting).
Lastly, the calendar offers a Quick navigation tool on the bottom left of the screen. This tool allows you to view a mini-monthly calendar after filtering entries on the main screen.
What’s in JobNimbus’ Insights?
JobNimbus offers more guidance once you head over to its Insights tab. A pop-up informs you of recent product updates (such as faster dashboard loading and more chart interactions).
In a nutshell, the Insights tab is JobNimbus’ marketing and sales section. It shows you weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly leads, sold jobs, close rate, and estimated conversion.
You can filter results by sales rep, lead source, and job type. Further down the page, the section offers comparative insights into lead flow and historical sales for the current and previous years. You can also view your top five lead sources and sales representatives for the current year.
Aside from the business overview, JobNimbus offers you additional insights into your sales, workflow, accounts receivable, and completed jobs. These are accessible on the left-side drop-down menu.
These filters provide deeper insights into their respective areas. The sales section offers insights on your leads and close rate, estimating conversion, sales pipeline, and sales data. It visualizes lead flow and lead mix, with further drill-down into leads and close rate by sales rep, lead source, job type, and area. You can filter entries by sales data and lead date.
The platform also allows you to create reports for different types of reports, such as team activity, commissions, estimates, invoices, and user activity, among others.
The Workflow section is the rough equivalent of a time-tracking solution in JobNimbus’ platform, albeit in the form of days spent on lead acquisition, estimation, jobs sold, production, and accounts receivable.
The Accounts Receivable section again shows sales insights for sales reps and job types, with further drill-down into outstanding invoices by status and time period.
Lastly, the Completed Jobs offers a detailed look into your completed jobs by job type, sales rep, and lead source.
What’s Included in JobNimbus’ Engage?
The ‘Engage’ section invites tou to set up a subscription to JobNimbus’ text, email, and caller ID. This is only available to paying subscribers.
Integrating Other Business Apps With JobNimbus
JobNimbus prioritizes its roofing app partners, namely JobNimbus Payments, SumoQuote, Roof Hub, Beacon PRO+, and Roofle.
The platform also integrates with other third-party systems, including QuickBooks, SalesRabbit, Google Maps, and other apps through Zapier.
JobNimbus Might be a Good Fit for You If…
…you’re a roofing contractor with a lot in your sales and leads pipeline.
JobNimbus offers fairly advanced tools for managing leads and deriving insights from your sales activities. This is a direct result of its recent purchases (SumoQuote and Roofer Marketers).
If you want to dig deeper into your sales reps’ performance or where your biggest jobs are coming from, then JobNimbus is the app for you.
You Might Not Want to Use JobNimbus If…
…you’re looking for more practical tools for your contractor business.
JobNimbus may have placed a little too much emphasis on marketing and sales, which is probably not the first thing on roofing professionals’ agenda when it comes to contractor software.
The app lacks tools for tracking time on the field, optimizing routes, tracking jobs, and other solutions built around contractors’ daily on-the-job needs.

JobNimbus Reviews
JobNimbus users say the app does its job, but is far from perfect.
Some users approved the company’s marketing moves and the resulting expansion of its offerings. However, they also said it needs finishing touches – the sooner, the better.
iOS user Smittay! said the app was a welcome improvement from their previous solutions provider, though it needed a few more finishing touches to be perfect:
iOS Review:
Game Changer on the Road! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Switched from acculynx a little over a year ago, took some getting used to, needed both the app and desktop for various reasons and capabilities the app didn’t have, but we got it way more streamlined with some help from Ronnie. I’ve been using the new app since beta phase came out several months ago and haven’t touched the legacy app except for when I need two files opened simultaneously lol! I love the new app, it’s very functional and user intuitive.Things I’d like to see in the app: function to delete files, function to sort tasks customers and jobs etc by “last touched” , personally I’d like to have the jobs/contacts/tasks/estimate buttons be below my “todays schedule” on the Home Screen, and not sure if there a way already or not but having lost sales stay showing in my pipeline I’d rather not see. I give it like a 97 A! Keep up the great work!
Android user Firas Ahmad says that the app keeps on kicking him out:
Google Play Review:
⭐
The app constantly needs me to login seemingly every time I get a notification from it, making it essentially useless to me despite all its other features. There does not seem to be any setting to enable me to keep the app logged in, and my phone’s built-in password manager does not recognize this app’s login screen. As well, when I do login, it simply takes me to the project the notification originated from, not to the specific note/tag/etc. meaning I have to then go looking for it.
Capterra reviewer Brandon B. was not happy with the Insights tab, though he applauded the SumoQuote purchase:
Capterra Review:
Bad Growth ⭐⭐⭐
Friendly staff. If you have an issue to discuss, be prepared to wait a few days for a zoom meeting….Pros: When we first started with JobNimbus it was do to an ok product at a great price. Now many years later and a few price increases all they seem to want to do is integrate. The SumoQuote purchase was a great move but other than that……
Cons: I have to use JobNimbus for residential and another product for commercial as Nimbus doesnt do any job costing or vendor portals, or customer portals…. The new insights is AWFUL! The functionality is questionable at best. They offer contacts and jobs function. If the jobs function is turned on, you should not be able to enter invoices, material orders, work orders, etc into a contact…. WRONG. Tons of wasted time fixing errors. Now instead of fixing it they have decided that if you want to use jobs, they can turn off the contacts BUT if you have any documents (like signed contracts) you lose them…. They have not updated the core issues AT ALL! Custom documents still require the use of knowing in depth HTML (without the use of CSS) or a… yep integration costing you more money per month.
Our Score (and Why We Chose It)
Based on our sign-up and onboarding experience with the free trial, here’s how we scored JobNimbus:
JobNimbus did not reveal its pricing, but speculation puts the starting price at a steep $300 per month. The lack of transparency around JobNimbus’ pricing makes it difficult to compare with other solutions, thus earning it a less than perfect score.
Its integrations also earned it less than a 10 in that category. While featuring commonly used third-party apps like QuickBooks, the list is heavily skewed toward partner roofing apps. While understandable in light of its primary audience, its modest list of integrations clearly puts construction companies below roofing businesses on its priority list.
Top Alternatives to JobNimbus
JobNimbus promises to make you a roofing business hero, but there are plenty of alternatives offering dedicated features for contractors and trade professionals.
Final Thoughts / The Bottom Line
JobNimbus is what it claims to be (or at least aspires to be) – an all-in-one app for roofing contractors. It offers basic solutions for roofing professionals including scheduling, CRM functions, and integration with partner roofing solutions.
However, its emphasis on marketing and sales feels more like a justification for its recent acquisitions than an attempt to address its roofing customers’ immediate needs.
We did not find a good answer to contractors’ need for a reliable time-tracking tool, nor route planning and optimization – solutions that often make a real difference in a trade professional’s workday.
All in all, JobNimbus offers intriguing insights into roofing contractors’ sales and marketing activities. But while marketing and sales are equally important, it can be a poor replacement for practical solutions built around a contractor’s day-to-day job.
