How to Delete a Shift on WhenToWork
To delete a shift in WhenToWork, hover over the shift you want to delete and click the More button, then select Delete. Alternatively, you can edit the shift and click Delete.
If you want to notify the assigned user about deleting the shift, click Notify <user> and include a message. Click Confirm Delete to complete the process.
Note that deleted shifts cannot be recovered. You can also delete multiple shifts at once using the Grid View or Sortable List schedule views by checking the boxes next to the shifts and clicking the Delete link.
To delete a shift on WhenToWork, follow these detailed steps:
1. Log into Your WhenToWork Account
Start by logging into your WhenToWork account with your administrator credentials. Ensure you have the necessary permissions to delete shifts.
2. Navigate to the Scheduler
Once logged in, go to the Scheduler section where you can view the current schedules.
3. Locate the Shift to Delete
Find the specific shift you want to delete. You can do this by browsing through the schedule for the relevant day or week.
4. Delete a Single Shift
Hover over the shift you wish to delete. Click the More button (usually represented by three dots or a similar icon) associated with that shift. From the dropdown menu, select
Delete.
If you want to notify the assigned employee about the deletion, check the option to Notify <user> and include a message if desired. This notification option is available only if the shift has not yet occurred.
5. Confirm Deletion
After selecting delete, a confirmation prompt will appear. Click Confirm Delete to finalize the deletion of the shift. Remember that once a shift is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
6. Deleting Multiple Shifts
If you need to delete multiple shifts at once, switch to the Grid View or Sortable List View from the schedule view dropdown.
In Grid View, check the boxes next to each shift you want to delete. Then, click the Delete link at the top or bottom of the page and confirm the deletion.
In Sortable List View, similarly check the boxes next to the shifts, then click Delete Selected Shifts and confirm.
7. Notifications for Deleted Shifts
If you delete shifts from a published schedule, affected employees will automatically receive notifications about the changes, provided the notification setting is enabled.
